Banjo Pluckin' Swamp Thing

I just finished the Alan Moore series of the Swamp Thing, and was inspired to do some fantarting.

Ten points if you can name the woodpecker species.

A quickie Two-Face watercolor portrait - mounted on some recycled paper that my wife made.

Burrowing Owls

Burrowing owls in watercolor and colored pencils. My part in an art trade with some of my wife's coworkers. The idea was to do a drawing in an hour or less. I took more time than that, but we'll keep that on the D.L.

Storm

A circa-80s Storm cut-out for a friend. I made a few of my own tweaks to the design though.

Han and Chewie

A gift for a friend of mine who collects images of people looking over the front seat of a vehicle while holding a weapon. It's a very specific and limited collection.

I tried a new style with this. The lines are originally vector, and the coloring/shading is done in Photoshop

Predator

A predator.

I am really looking forward to Shane Black's return to the franchise.

Queen Mary's Bath House

Queen Mary's Bath House at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, Scotland. Inspired by my recent visit to the amazing city!

I am crap at drawing buildings, so this is my attempt at practice. This was made from watercolors, colored pencils, and cut paper.

Future Ambassador

Following his announcement about the Paris Climate Agreement yesterday, Drumpf is visited by an ambassador from the future.

Will this nitwit just resign already!?

Mount Rainier

A first attempt at doing a minimal landscape with watercolors and colored pencils. Very "Meh".

This is from Paradise on Mount Rainier.

Green-winged Teal

As a good friend of mine would say, "A duck". Anas carolinensis to be precise.

Still doing the watercolor and colored pencil illustrations.

Ree Yees

From Jabba the Hutt's palace.

Little known false fact: Ree Yees isn't even his name. His real name is Reed Yeates, but he's always too drunk to pronounce it correctly.

Squig Hopper

Once upon a time, back in the 90s, I used to play Warhammer with my friends. Every once in a while I still get moments of nostalgia.

Tawny Frogmouth

Another watercolor and colored pencil bird. The tawny frogmouth is native to Australia. I would like to see one in the wild some day... and laugh at it.

Health Care

Some helpful advice about health care reform.

This is my sketchbook equivalent of screaming at the news.

Joe Biden

I already really miss this guy.

Testing out my coloring caricatures with watercolor. AND I finally got new colored pencils.

Great Tit

The Great Tit (Parus major) which is native to Great Britain.

I am looking forward to adding these to my life list when the wife and I visit England later this year. If for no other reason, than to loudly brag about seeing them.

Hoatzin

Pronounced, "Watson".

Hoatzins are super bizarro prehistoric looking birds from the Amazon jungle. They still have vestigial hooked claws on their wings, which the young birds use to climb back into trees (since they usually perch in bushes above jungle swamps full of predators).

I saw a tree laden with these when I was in Ecuador, and it was amazing/hilarious.

This is my second attempt at watercolors and colored pencils. Still need new colored pencils. haha.

American Carnage: Inauguration 2017

"This American carnage stops right here, and right now".

Seems a tad hyperbolic.

Donald Trump as Carnage, the Spider-man villain. Because they're both evil. And slimy.

Bossk

Did a quick sketch of Bossk to try my hand and watercolors shaded with colored pencils.

I really need some different colored pencils.

Goblin Shark

The deep sea dwelling Goblin Shark. To catch their prey they rapidly extend their jaws. It's pretty disturbing looking.

Another recent watercolor.

Tanuki

The Tanuki, a subspecies of the Asian Raccoon Dog. Native to Japan.

I had to throw in a sake bottle for good measure.

Done in watercolors. Lately I've been relaxing by doing small watercolor paintings.
